Theres a lot of cut scenes, none over 90 mins though.
The ending plus credits goes for an 1 hour apparently. Theres alot of story to cover in this.

according to a source of mine, it takes about 25 mins from clicking 'new game' to actually killing an enemy...anything true 'bout that?

I've now finished both GTA4 and MGS4.
This is the best game ever created. Very nostaligic with references from all previous Meta Gear games with music/voice overs and story links.
Complets a game series that spanned 20 years.
